Well, I got the saginaw swap buttoned up today, including the newly fabbed left-side engine mount. Didn't have time before work tonight to bolt the front fenders back on, but a bungee cord held the hood down long enough to try out the new steering setup on our street. There was nary a C-clamp in sight when we made the maiden voyage around our circle.

Whoooooweeeee! I can easily spin the steering wheel with one finger while under way, and it really isn't a whole lot more difficult when standing still. I'm really happy with how it drives. Have to adjust the steering stops a bit, the knobs on the Swampers make a gawdawful racket on the leaf springs...

Tomorrow I'll have to bolt it all back together and give the old girl bath.

    Later!

I'm sorry Mr. Lane, but that just won't cut the mustard... Those are recycled pics from your other post. Don't think we don't notice!!!

We need pictures of the finished job. Steering shaft hooked up. New engine mount. Front clip installed. And one of you, standing in front of the Jeep with a newspaper to verify the date...

    :D
