in 2013, i blew a disk out in my back. 1/2 paralyzed my left leg and put me in the hospital for surgery. im semi recovered now and ready to get back on my jeep.

i have a 68 cj5 and a 71 cj6. the 6 has the original v6 drive train, but it needs rebuilt. i am putting the 84 turbo buick in the cj6 along with the sm420 and dana 18/over drive. with the longer wheel base, it should be more stable than the short jeep.
i found a set of stock wagoneer axles. i know i will have to outboard the front springs and put new perches on front/back, however, since it is wider than stock, what will i have to look for when bolting them up? is it as strait forward as i think it should be? once bolted up, is there anything i need to watch for? i am going from drum to disk/drum so i will need a proportioning valve.
i have never swapped axles and just dont want to get 1/2 way into it and forget something.

the longer wheel base of the 6 and the wider axles from the wagoneer should help that turbo 6 drive a little safer i am thinking.

then ill just build the 225/t14/d18 from the 71 and throw it in the 68 and get that one running as well. i will probably put the d44 30 spline and a dana 30 in the 68.

thats the plan (today anyway). i just dont know if the dana 44's have a hidden surprise.

    thanks guys. always helpful here.

    Welcome back :)

it's not just a proportioning valve you need, the disks & drums want different residual pressure valves, IIRC drums want 10 PSI & disks want 2 PSI- these are normally in the MC so you'll need to verify what you have.
