The engine rebuild kit did not include a new ring for the oil canister cap. Where can I get one?

And I see this at Walcks (Oil Filter Bracket Grommet L Head 4 Cylinder) but I'm confused as to where it goes. Their description says the oil bracket for hose.

A gasket should come in the box with the oil filter.

Right. Re-use the first one, then you will have the second one for a spare.

Long day. I missed that. Was busy trying to find the gasket when I saw that. My last filter did not have one in it. May just have been an accidental missing part.

Just curious, what brand filter did you buy?

Undoubtedly the gasket was missed being put in the box. A search for the filter shows the gasket in all images I saw.

Last and first time to change oil, I just used the old one and if it leaked some I didn't know with all the oil and grease on everything. Now I'm not wanting it to get that way again.

NAPA's usually pretty good at putting the gasket in. Fram, not so much lately. I ended up just getting an o-ring kit to make my own for my old tractor.
