Can (should) the upper part of the Oil Bath Air Filter be dissassembled for cleaning/repair. The fitting for the crankcase hose is very loose. If the answer is "it is not a good idea...", then it is JB weld to the rescue.

(Howard: I went through the manual this time and it does not address this disassembly B^)

I always figured it was meant to never come apart. Mine had a hole in the bottom inside; I fixed it easily with JB weld.

Maybe braze it. I clean mine in a parts cleaner and let dry thoroughly. It does not come apart. I guess there maybe easier ways. Someone else may chime in.

Golly, have I been playing Loud Mouth Shnook -Again???

You're gonna have to refresh my memory about that one, don't recall the circumstances of the referance:oops:

Anyhoo I was never able to figure a way to get the screen out of the top section, I've always turned it upside down & swished it out with gas.

re. the loos fitting I'd suggest cleaning it off well & soldering or brazing it.

A day or two After you swish the gas through it
