There was a time when project Jeeps were plentiful amd inexpensive. Guys carved them up, did crazy mods, built impractical beasts, rolled them, broke them, had great fun. Original Jeeps in decent shape, even late CJ's, are becoming scarce. Some nice original Jeeps are bringing good money, project Jeeps are still available and not too expensive. Jeeps, for some reason, are lagging the trend of ridiculous prices on vintage cars and trucks. But the day is coming soon when a reasonably original Jeep will bring crazy money. I second the advice to not do anything that cant be undone if starting with an original machine.
