Note: don't call that number. It now belongs to a private household at a diffo address. And the address is now a Shell gas station. Brian Chuchua is somehow affiliated with Jeep at 777 Orangethorpe in Placentia, CA. The same Brian Chuchua was recently (this year) in court for "discharging pollutants without a permit into waters of the United States." He's gotta be reachable for comment on the supercharger if someone was persistent enuf.

    Love that Google. :D

    Lets see...
    72hp x 66%(0.66) = 47.52 hp

    72 +47.52 = 119.52 HP

Billy, Find me one, and I'll part Achilles out! R)

Wow! That's where I used to work! Brian had lots and lots of cool stuff. That ad predates me though.

A supercharged F-head isn't such a bad idea - the engine has lots of bearing area, a steel crank and rods... nowadays you might consider a turbocharger instead.

There is no more BC Jeep - they moved to the Placentia location in 1974, and that's where I worked. Much later (1990?) they sold the dealership and it became Don-a-Vee Chrysler-Jeep. I bought my '73 off the Fullerton lot, which was a collection of old industrial buildings. The shop was a lot like a converted barn with two-pole hoists.

Not really as superchargers may take horsepower to run but they also make horsepower throughout the entire rpm range where turbo chargers start making there horsepower at a higher rpm than an offroad jeep would want it. Superchargers make horsepower from idle to redline, turbos from about 2200 rpm on up, plus you then have the under hood heat and oil problems that the blowers don't have.

Dave T was working on fitting a turbo to a F-head but it was more work than it was worth. That blower looks like a clean set up though.

Dick Datson's Gator Superchargers site has disappeared - anybody know what happened? He lives in Brandenton, FL. He suggested turbocharging the F134 in his books, and was working on a turnkey supercharger for small engines.
