M38a-1 pto

    I have aquired a Ramsey PTO 1 shift unit 953 from a 54 M38A-1 that also had a T18 and 4 cyl. I have two questions:
    1. any differences between the M38 and CJ5 that would cause me problems with fit and or function of the PTO?
    2. Any other sources other than e-bay, craigslist, or Herm that i should know of for pieces? I have just got the shift unit without the arm piece that angles down.

    This should be clear as mud...I wish i knew the proper names other than "Thingamajig" ya know?

    No difference so far as this is concerned between a M38,a1 & a cj5.

    Unfortunately it won't be much good to you without the chain box & you aren't likely to find one separately. One could be fabbed but considering that these aren't that expensive or rare you're probably better off buying a complete unit if you (I'm assuming) want to run a front winch.
