How many people put a lift kit on their cj5? I was thinking of a 2" to 2.5", but not sure it it would mess up the geometry of the drive train or steering.

    What do you think?

Ok, I'm done for the day. You guys are really getting me to want to start on my jeep.

    thanks

A good number have lifted our Jeeps. Besides sometimes needing to change the shim that is given everything normally turns out Ok. With that little lift problems will be minimised

In my opinion, 2-1/2" is perfect for street use and mild trail use. It is a very simple lift, with little to no problems at all.

Normally there are few problems asociated with lifts until you hit the 4" range. You can generally run tires up to 33" with the 2.5" lift.

I have a Black Diamond 3" lift and have had NO problems.
    33x9.5" BFG All-Terrain tires.
The tie rod angles look a little steep but I made sure the toe-in was right, rebuilt the bell crank, made sure everything was tight and installed a single Black Diamond steering stabilizer.
    I'm serious....it drives surprisingly well for a 35 year old, original-steering-system CJ.
No death wobble, no wander, no shimmy.
No driveline mods were required, either.

    Any questions?
Don't hesitate to e-mail, I'd be glad to help.

i installed 4 inch lift from pro comp. no problem with drive line as long as you install 2.5 degree shims in the rear and transfer case lowering kit. i still need to get longer brake lines and dropped pit man arm. its a little bit more work but it sure looks nice....havent tried off road so i cant comment on that
