Just did a search and saw a number of wonderful threads on 33x10.5 tires. So I ordered a set! Next challenge is finding a 15” wheel that is 7” wide and keeps the tire under the stock sheetmetal. I don’t want to add any plastic flare. As long as the tread portion is mostly covered, the sidewall bulge falling outside the metal is fine by me. I also want the wheel to be 7” wide. So what backspacing would you get. Is 3.75 on a 7” wheel going to do the trick or stick out too much? I’ll probably order up a 2.5” lift this week as well. The Jeep in this picture has the wheels I was thinking of but I have no idea what size tire it has. I normally don’t touch aluminum wheels but those wheels work. Any ideas on backspacing or stats on that Jeep would be wonderful.

Just a word of warning: keeping 33" tires under the fenders is going to give you a horrible turning radius as the tires hit the springs before you get close to full-lock.

I run 35-12.50 tires and my turning radius is awful. its annoying. I would go narrower if they made tires that tall for sure.

My current 31x10.5 rub the springs on stock wheels so I can only imagine. I’m hoping these narrow 33’s spaced out a couple inches on either side will give me some space.

Ha, I have no idea. Got my rims when I bought one pile of unfinished and leftover project parts.

I might hold off on wheels until the tires arrive this week. Then I’ll actually mock up and roughly measure. I was just hoping a member would have this size already and had my recipe.

Surrender to the plastic flares. You can find 7x15 wheels in both 3.75" and 2.5" backspacing. 2.5" will stick out more. Neither will be completely under the steel.

I have 10.5 wide tires on 8" wheels with stock axles and the tread doesn't go past the fender... 20180528_104611.jpg 20180528_104553.jpg

Exactly what I was hoping for! Wider than I have stock but still tucked under. What backspacing wheel and what height tire?

    Mine are 31x10.50's
The wheels are generic 15x8 chrome spokes...not sure of the backspace, maybe 3.5"?
