I wonder why they designed so many of these cabs with such tiny windows? I like driving my CJ-6 with Bestop because of the large windows. When I get into a new JK with a hardtop, it feels like the windows are tank slits.

I haven't paid attention to the new ones, but some of the old hardtops definitely had way too small windows. I've often wondered if it was because of the cost difference, was a square foot of glass that much more expensive than a square foot of sheet metal?

I do realize that back then pennies could make a difference in affordability.

That is a good possibility. (profit) It seems like the 40s and 50s era Jeeps had tiny windows in the aftermarket hard tops, but as things went into the 60s and 70s the windows got bigger.
