Front brake line

    So I'm getting ready to swap the original front 9" brakes for 10" brakes on my '48 2A. The Jeep has the "S" lines from the rubber brake hoses to the wheel cylinders. The fitting goes straight into the back of the wheel cylinders. The 10" brakes wheel cylinders have the fittings going in at an angle. Will I be able to tweek the original "S" line to fit into the angled fitting on the 10" brakes? Are the fittings the same size? I assume they are both 3/16" brake line. Or, should I just order the "S" (or "Z") lines for a 10" equipped Jeep? Make sense? Thanks.

    No.
    Because of the wheel cylinder port entry angle you will need to use a pair of the later tubes commonly referred to a "Z" tubes.
    No other problems should be encountered.

    Personally I like the later "Z" tubes better than the early "S" tubes.

    I had "S" lines going into my front 10" brakes. It was tight during the removal process but it worked. If you're willing to order other lines, might as well try with what you have. If they kink, order "Z" lines.

    I was going to order rubber hoses anyhow, and the Z lines are about 5 bucks.....I'm rebuilding a later D25 with Spicer joints, spindle stud conversion, and the 10" brakes to throw under the flatty

    I installed fully rebuilt 10" Wagners onto my rebuilt D25.
    I built my D25 with early style short hoses and used the hose guards which are mounted onto the bearing caps.
    It formerly had "S" tubes but I switched it over to "Z" tubes to better fit the 10" brake wheel cylinders.
    I suppose one could also build a 10" Wagner D25 without the hose guards and use long hoses dropped down from the frame.

    I'm doing exactly that. Using the CJ2A short hoses, hose guards, and "Z" tubes.
