Years ago, I put a set of 1" Superlift springs under my '47. I built some shackles as well, replacing the stock 'C' units. The springs, obviously, came with bushings but nothing was provided for the frame bushings. I had a local machine shop whittle out some poly-plastic material to fit, but these have since worn and are quite wobbly. What does everyone use for frame-end shackle bushings when you replace the stock shackles?

you can use poly or rubber/steel bushings for 55-73 CJ5
you may need to ream/hone out the frame threaded opening just slightly for these to fit
I have used both the poly and rubber/steel bushings and a c-clamp and pressed them in

I think you can order some from Rancho. I made some out of sway bar bushing.

I was wondering if the later model CJ stuff would work... Thanks for the tip. Guess it's time to warm up that credit card :D

I think I saw some on M.O.R.E.s site also. They have nice replacement shackles with a small lift.
