Fhead Starter Issues

Just thought id post if anyone else runs into this.
I just installed a new bendix drive on my fhead starter couple months ago. Only started a few times.
Last couple times i tried to start it it spun over fast, but not hitting the flywheel. Finally took it apart today and it was binding up inside the bendix gear. It wasnt extending. So i popped the snap ring off (watch the big spring inside...) and something fell out round and flat. Everything was freed up and the bendix extends. The only thing i could figure out was the roll pin that came with it was a little loose. I think it started to come out when spinning and the hole in the bendix to install the roll pin sheared a piece of the pin off and it got stuck inside jamming things up. Easy fix, just got a new 1/4" rollpin from the hardware and ground it down to the right length. THAT one isnt coming out
