Looking for input! I did a search but did not find what I was looking for.
So I am going to try and add a remote resevoir to my dual M/C. I have an old cap in the garage to play with. My thoughts are to drill a hole for a threaded fitting in the cap. Slice a "X" in the rubber gasket and have the fitting long enough to go through the rubber seal. An alternative would be to cut a hole in the rubber the same size as the fitting and add a nut. I believe I only need 1 fitting since the M/C shares fluid between the two sides. I will need to seal the fitting somehow as well.

Anyone done this and I just can't find it on here?

unless you get a good seal where the fitting goes thru the rubber it will run out on the ground:rofl: most upgrade to the firewall mounted design from newer jeeps with the pedals that mount behind the dash

I bought a remote resivor from Herm. I mounted it on the firewall, ran some vinal tubing to the master cylinder, drilled a hole in the lid and used a brass fitting with nylon & rubber washers. I really makes bleading the brakes a lot easyer. Its also a lot cleaner, less chance of getting contaminates in the brake fluid. No leaks so far. Bought all the tubing & fittings at ace- hardware .

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. Not sure I want to take the M/C back off to drill and tap though. I was hoping to run it through the top cover. Any pics Anthony?

Make a flat aluminum plate and drill and tap the top. Use contact cement to bond a flat EPDM gasket to the plate. This way you don't have a special master cylinder to replace at a later date.

:? I think he's wanting to do a DIY version of Herm's kit with the frame mounted master cylinder.

No picts right now. I have the engine out right now, finishing a rebuild on the engin. My jeep is in the driveway, rapt up with tarps. If your not in a hury I can send you some picts in a couple of weeks. Now would be a good time before I put the engine back in.

Doing some research and reviving an old thread. The Link in the quote above is dead. Anyone know of a redirect that works, or is that thread gone for good?

I would like to find a way to tap into the cap rather than the master cylinder itself.

I got a conversion from R&P, that used a Wildwood master that looked like that. When I drove my Jeep with disc up front. Making a quick stop, you could hear the tire wanting to lock up, but the did not. Running 31 x 10.5 x 15 BF Goodrich KO2's

If your concern is a leak around a threaded fitting through the master cylinder cap, you could always solder or braze the fitting(s) to the cap. HTH, Good luck!

I’m liking that Willwood setup. You guys know if it’ll bolt into Herms dual MC bracket? I like the bracket, but not how fat the MC is. Gaining back an inch or two right there would be really nice.

I bought a couple motorcycle brake reservoirs and plumbed them into my MC cap.
