X2! Something else is going on that is hard to pinpoint apparently.

Regular sealed beams were adequate before and should still be anyway.

Did the ground wire already have a ring terminal on it? Is it also the left wire looking from the back, as shown in the diagram?

Didn't get 24 volt H4 bulbs, didya? There is such a thing.

What happens if you plug in a "known good" headlamp?

At this point I don't know what any of the problems are haha I never had good working headlights in it so I can't get a known working one in. As well it very well could be 24 volt I never thought of that! They look like they are running bright enough on the actual lighting and the housing isn't reflecting enough.

I'm not sure I understand your meaning of the last sentence. The housing isn't meant to reflect any light. The bulbs are sealed beam bulbs.

H4 type is a separate bulb, removable from the reflector. Not sealed beam.

 Well, I just learned something then. I guess I need a picture to see how that would work in a Jeep.

Aha! Now I see the light (pun intended). I'm used to just replacing the filament part in the newer vehicles, never paid much attention to what they were. Yeah, if it's still not bright enough something is amiss. Thanks PeteL. :):coffee:
