Damn you Mr.John Doe

Ok, I have 55' CJ-5 and that dummy John Doe, that had it before me, put a L-Head in it!!!! Well Ok No big deal I can live with that. However he also put The Ford GPW-6050 head on it and the water passages are slightly different. Causing all the head gaskets I tried to balloon out and leak right at said passages. Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem, or if I got some Info crisscrossed and sound like an idiot.
