D27 Axle Shaft Issue

    How about the bronze bushing inside the spindle? Could something with that allow the the shaft to rotate excessively enough to hit the housing? Or a combination of that and no snap ring?

    Hard to tell from the picture but, it doesn't look to me like a grinder did this.
