I have had an idea running thur my mind for a few days and I would like to have some input on it? Kind of hurts ya know.

How hard would it be to change my brake and clutch pedals location on my 66 cj? Or am I out of my mind?

Ya know hydralic clutch and dual line master cylinder to run 11" brakes. I am also wanting to mount up a hydraulic dash lock on the dash.

I must give you some more info. right now the tub is off the frame and I am very begining of rebuilding the cj-5.

I don't have the original heater, so that area is clear and I am going to have to redo the heater anyway.

I already have the power steering change out and a tilt wheel mounted up inside the tub. It seems like the modifacation was done pretty good by the "PO". or any way I hope so cause I don't have to redo this to but it would not surprise me if it needs some tlc....

it's very do-able........search hanging pedals and I'm sure you'll find alot of reading material, my cj 6 has modded pedals from a cj7 I think

I did my 62 model. It had already been modified with a M151 drive train when I bought it. I took out the floor pedals and moved the heater box over to the right side of the firewall. I then installed a swing pedal assembly from a late 80's Mazda PU. I used a brake booster and master cylinder from a Nissan Sentra and the Mazda clutch master and a toyota slave cylinder, mounted on the frame rail and welded an extra arm onto the Z-bar that actuates the clutch. Works great. Not expensive.

FWIW you can convert to a dual master cyl without going to a hanging pedal setup. 67-71 CJ's are set up that way. I believe Herm sells a kit.
