I don't think the 3500 will fit. A 4speed it a tight fit so 5 speeds are really tight. Let alone the fact that the Np231 is a long T-case so I don't think trying to fit a blazer driveline in will work unless you are making a long wheelbase flattie.

Go with the 4.3 - SM465 - D18 - Warn OD... Great combo and that with 4.88's gets you highway speed.

Thanks Warloch! Are 18 and 20s interchangable?
Also, are 4.88s considered high or low for a Jeep? I'm used to muscle cars running no lower than 4.56

D18 vs D20 - The 18 has the offset rear output (Pside) and allows the running of the Warn/Saturn OD. The 18 has lower gears, the cases are interchangeable with the right bearing retainers.

Novak has great info on them.

The 5.38's are the lowest (slowest) gears that came standard in the flatties - the 4.88's are hard to find for some axles - those give a better top end and with the SM465 the 2nd is lower than the T90 w/5.38s. Alot of the 'newer' ECJ5s have higher gears in the axles (don't have the numbers handy, but can get them if you need it)

You could get 3.73,4.27,4.88 or 5.38 if I'm not mistaken. Like said above a 4.3/sm 465/dana 18 with a OD will be a very nice combo and be very versital for about any thing you'll want to do.
