Body swap

Just out of curiosity will a CJ2A body fit a M38A1/cj5 frame as in direct bolt up?

 

gonna be long in the front and back but amazingly enough some of the mounts can be used under body and fenders

 

What's gonna be too long the body or the frame? Just curious also.

 

Frame will be a little long. There is a write-up somewhere on this... Lemme see what I can find

 

Rear springs are 2" longer on the A1 IIRC an therefore the rear frame horns stick out behind the body. The fronts run a little long also but I considered that a plus when changing to saginaw steering. I did this swap a few years ago usind a 47 2A body and a late fifties CJ5 frame. It's doable and not to hard.

Not a direct bolt up, but can be done.

3B frame has the same dimensions as a 2A/3A.

 

Thanks guys for the info. My 2a frame is bent behind the front left spring hanger and cracked at the front left cross member/radiator suppot at the frame. Just stressing out about how to fix it.
