1956 CJ5, F134, 6v electrical system. Original instrument cluster (or an old OEM replacement)... Temp gauge stays below C no matter how warm the engine is. Thinking it's a bad/dirty ground, but if I connect a jumper from the temp sender on the block to ground (- batt terminal for instance) the gauge moves to above the H and stays there. No in-between readings as engine warms or cools. Sounds like a bad sender, right?

Fuel gauge works as it should. Oil and amp lights work as does the speedo itself. No illumination in cluster, but I haven't pulled/replaced the bulbs yet.

Grounding the sender wire and getting full hot deflection is normal test. You have a bad sender.
