This has been driving me crazy.... I'm chasing my own tail here. I finished my heater core R & R a few weeks ago. I've been doing quite a bit of wiring upgrades , mostly under my custom dash. Putting things back together , in order, left to right from fuse box thru my GM column to XM radio to the Blower Motor. I replaced the toggle switches , for the two speed motor , with two, separate, lighted when on type. Now, I can either get the toggle switches to light up OR run the motor, in Hi & Lo..... not to do both ? When i connect the ground , from the motor , I blow a fuse? No mater what configuration I make the connections ?
Unfortunately for me , my Rosie is a mongrel of a Buick regal wiring harness , & my beloved CJ5 that I am familiar with. IE : there is no blower motor resistor , anywhere to be found?
Any way.... I'm finally thinking that the 44 year old blower motor is shorted internally.
Where do ya'll or anyone suggest I find a new one ? I've searched a few places... AC delco comes back as suggested , but I want the correct one , the first time , this TIME !
PS Thanks for any advice & reading which is pretty much my Rant ! :banghead: _____Lockman ( Richie )

They tell me that this is the OEM part # 19189177 ? Problem is, it shows two wires.? Mine has 3) : black, orange , & red ?

That's not the Jeep PN. On the original, you have two speeds and ground.

I can't look up parts right now, but the '76 motor likely could be made to work, and you'll have a better chance of finding a listing for that. Also, if you search, there have been threads published on how to upgrade the motors for these heaters. Likely these replacements will have two speeds, like the original.

You may need to be flexible, since a new exact replacement may not be available from the aftermarket. Many of the parts for intermediates are NLA.
