Yep. I believe the L head ones didn't have the "lump" on the top of
the can. Mine look more like Rondog's. Both the one on my '5 and the
    spare one.

It looks to me like part of the brackets are missing. I don't have the indent in my 2A fire wall.

Looks like it might mount flat against the firewall, but I don't know.

I looks like the one out of my m38 also. Does it have an inlet and an outlet? I think I have a spare set of firewall mounts if you need them.

I have that type on one of my 48 CJ2As with the L head and I believe it is called the Oakes Oil Bath Air Cleaner. I also have the other type like the F heads use on my other all original 48 CJ2A.

If you are interested I have pics of every 4 cyl oilbath airfilter Willys made for the CJ jeep archived and I can explain the approx date and application of each.
That sounds so sad, I really need to get a life!

I have one of those on my CJ3A. I figured it might be a military job, since the oil filter I have is, and won't fit the civvy oil filter cartridge. The Jeep was originally the property of the California National Guard, so I figured they just slapped on M38 parts from the motor pool, since they were handy. Frankenjeep.
