75 CJ5 Power Steering

I am looking to buy a power steering box from an 89 YJ and put it in the CJ. All info I found indicates the YJ has a drop pitman and my CJ does not. Can these two be switched around ( correct spline count) Also, should I try to get anything else from him, I have the pump already and can have the hoses made.

I put an XJ box in my 72. You need a power steering pitman arm from an intermediate jeep. The manual one will not fit. I found that my manual column splines fit on the xj box but would not fit on a newer CJ box. I'm not sure about the YJ

 

What year XJ and where did you get the pitman??

 

You can get the pitman arm from 4 wheel drive hardware or Quadratec.
