This may or may not of be some interest
    my latest build is a 54 CJ3B, 79 CJ7 axles and a 70 Jeepster 225 V6, T14 dana 20
since the original 70 clutch had a cable release and I was going to hanging pedals
that seemed a good way to proceed
after reading on here and looking for a cable I came up empty handed
I started thinking about what type cable is strong and always dependable
I came up with an emergency brake cable
looking through lots and lots and lots of cable specs I ended up with the right side e-brake cable
    for a 77 Blazer.
One end is a treaded rod which fit through the hole in the clutch fork and allows several inches of adjustment
the cable stop fit exactly into the bracket on the back of the transmission
the other end I had to fabricate an attachment to the ferrel on the end of the cable
to come through the floor and connect to the pedal.
hooked it up last night, got it adjusted, and it works
won't know how long or how well it performs ...... we will see

Hopefully it works better than the cheesy stock replacement cables that are out there.

i happened upon one of those 70/71 clutch cable assemblies with the brackets and everything still with jeep paper part tags on it. I works very well in my jeep. Your Ebrake cable idea is perfect.
