'51 M100 ?

    Buddy picked up a 51 military 1/4T trailer for $425 the other day. Plate says it's a 51. It has round fenders. M100 I presume. So my q is when did they start using the " squared off " fenders. This thing is original and in great shape,never been touched except for painted yellow.
