i just recieved and installed a new K&N filter on my 67 CJ5/225. I had an Eldlbrock on there, one of the foam jobs, but it was passing dust.. I saw a K&N with a 2-5/8" neck in a catalog, that looked like it might fit.. I decided that even if I had to modify it i would order one.. It went right on and has enough clearance to clear the choke linkage.. The only mod I made was to buy a piece of 1/4 inch all thread and make a new rod.. I bought this unit from 4WheelDrive Hardware.. They list a 9" and a 7" filter assembly, I went with the 9"..

Unfortunatly, it got deleted when we went to "Post Nuke" in Dec., but I did a write up complete with pics of the K&N "Flow Control" for the 2G. The filter is made for Circle Track racers using the 2G. It needs a little modification, but nothing a 1" hole saw and some good silicone sealant can't fix.

The Flow Control is actually a "Ram Tube" type of air filter and gives you an "honest" seat of the pants boost in power. If you doube me, ask "Michigan Pinstripes"!

The part # for the Flow Control is 61-2040.

The filter shown above is the exact one that I had on it from the PO.

zila: Don't blame you a bit. It is pricey. :( But last summer I ran out of things to spend $$ on my Jeep. R)

On K&N's, just remember to keep them well oiled, or get one of their "pre filters" and put it on. :)
