Anyone have any pics of a saginaw steering swap while retaining the factory L Head? I bought a jeep with the box already mounted (I believe its either a cj5 or 7 P/S box) Just having some trouble routing around the motor mount....

Also looking for a good way to mount the pump. The previous owner built a butch hack job of a bracket.....

Post pics if you can guys, thanks

I'd consider switching to a manual Saginaw steering gear. The parasitic load of a PS pump is not significant on a V8, but on an L134 you will feel it. The manual gear will be a big improvement over the Ross steering, and bolts up just the same as the Saginaw power gear.

I can vouch for this... Long story short, over the course of about 5 years due to various delays, I tore my '2A apart, rebuilt the front frame section, and incorporated Saginaw steering from an XJ. Knowing that parasitic loss was going to be an issue, I attempted to offset it by ditching the mechanical fan and going with an electric puller instead. Sadly, even after 5 years of not driving it, I can feel the power loss. But, here are some pictures that may or may not be of use:

What P/s steering bracket is that? I realize you made part of it, but the part on the pump itself...

The gearbox, intermediate shaft, column, pump, and pump tensioning bracket all came from an '85 XJ with the 2.5L 4-cylinder. And yes, I fabricated the bracket to attach it to the engine.
