I've done nothing to my Jeep or should I say had to do nothing to it for quite awhile except drive and enjoy it until the other night. That's when I noticed that the tail lights were on ever so much not as much as a parking light and certainly not as much as the brake light but definitley on. If I pull the headlight fuse they go off and when I turn the headlight switch on and off a half dozen times and it didn't seem to make it worse or better. Everything is new in the last year including the headlight switch, the wiring, and even the LED taillights. Before I get too carried away I was curious if the headlight switch could ever go bad and allow a little power, enough to dimly light a pair of LED tail lights but not enough to light up the standard headlight, to transfer from the hot lead across to the parking lights contact if that makes sense?

Check your brake light switch-- make sure its not bleeding a little juice when the brakes are not applied.

This is the same problem I had with my 66 it was a bad brake light switch, replaced switch and all is well.

My '67 had the same issue and found the brake fluid low. Check that first before replacing parts.
