    can anyone tell me if i can convert my alternator from a external to an internal without cutting into myoriginal wiring harness have disconect tool to put new style plug using my original wiring looking to do away with external regulator 74 304 cj-5 thanks

    Do you mean you want to replace your externally-regulated alternator with an internally-regulated alternator? This is not a problem. You will need to make some minor wiring changes, but I don't think it would require cutting into the existing harness. You might even be able to find a "plug-and-play" kit.

    If you mean you want to modify the existing externally-regulated alternator to make it internally-regulated, that's not so easy.
