another stupid question

THat's not a vital information but i've seen couple of what i think are intermediate cj5 (poeple telling me they have a 72-75 cj5 but they have a 76 and + windsheild.

For what i know the angle of both are not the same...pre 75 have exterior wiper motor and 76 and more inside motor. Also i know that pre 75 have a 59 inch width and 76 + have a 54 inch width.
I have try some researh here andon google but i cannot confirm that 76+ windsheild can go on a 75- cj5....

anyone know sometime about that?

 

I believe it will fit, but you will end up with top fitting problems,,,

 

It'll fit, but you'll have to use a post 76 top with a post 76 windshield

 

I have not put the '76-on windshield on a pre-'76 Jeep, but I recall reading here that it's not 100% bolt-on. You'll have to use the later hinges. The windshield fits fine on the cowl, but you'll have to move the holes around a little to get the hinges to fit. Also, the defroster holes between the cowl and the windshield frame don't line up (?) so you'll have to change that around some. Of course, you'll have to modify the dash so that the newer style latches will work. But it's do-able without any major effort.

As mentiones, the main difference is then top fitment. The top style has to match the windshield.
