Here is an update, I have been working on my tranny crossmember and finished it up tonight I still have to drill the frame and make nut plates for in the frame but this is what it will look like. I moved the tranny up so that my tbi base is level and I am quite happy how little the driveline hangs below the frame. I know there is a plate that goes above the tranny mount I have allowed for that. The tube is 3/8 wall.

Hey, on your springs...are those old springs? Have they been re-arched? Sometimes after you put the engine weight and everything on the jeep, and they are new or re-arched springs, they tend to settle over the course of probably a month. If that happens, the shackle angles change. Just would hate to see you weld on those hangers to later find the springs settled and the angle is not what you want

The shackle mounts will remain tacked untill the jeep is all mocked up and all weight is present for final welding. They are used skyjacker 2.5 springs that have not been rearched.

Here is friday night and saturdays progress, the motor mounts were for a small block chevy and were to far forward for a 4.3. So me and my friend Kenny cut out the big, blocky old mounts and used some left over tube from the tranny crossmember to make new ones. It really opens up a lot of room for steering and exhaust. I also found a drive shaft that fits great on the front. I have been pondering the rear frame for a while, it had nasty c channel 1/4 thick over the oe rear frame as a rear crossmember. They also plated the outside of the frame on the back with bad welds and space that allowed mud and water to get between the oe frame and their plate causing rust. So tonight I cut the whole mess off and started new with 2x3 tube. I am mounting a plastic gas tank for a cj-5 back there also. On to the pictures!

Tomorrow I will work on a rear bumper that will also serve as a rear crossmember.

Update! Took a little break form the project other than getting parts but now im back at it, I got a flywheel and my seats from a sahara tj. Got new shackles and finaly got my springs after reciving the wrong ones and having to go with a different supplier. I am making shackle mounts in the rear now and a match set for the front to replace th yj ones on there currently. I cleaned up the grill and fixed a rust hole in the pass side front fender. I also got my headlight brackets and windshild thumb screws. I will try to get some updated pictures soon.

I decided aganst the cj-7 bumper and took 3 inches off the front of the frame. I also got rid of the yj shakle mounts for scratch built ones. Aslo got the grill welting done. I also made a spare tire mount, and made a rear licence plate mount. Picked up a summit alluminum racing rad sense the feiro rad i had will not fit between the headlights. Here are some pictures of it on the trailer on its way to a local willys get together.
