This pretty much brings every thing up to date. Got an Easy-Wire kit off of ebay and just started wiring everything up. Once that's done it's time for the exhaust. Might just be ready for archery season in a couple of weeks.

Wow, GREAT job on this one - looks really good!

I'm surprised that the PO painted over the factory blue with it having such low miles.

The color you chose looks great with all of the black accents.

Make sure you keep your buddy away w/ all of his SS diamond plate...LOL!

The original owner who had the trucking company had all his trucks and pickups painted the same color so he painted the jeep the same as all his other vehicles. I think he had the cj painted almost immediately after he bought it in 1957.
Yeah, it's a challenge keeping Mr. chrome, stainless steel and shiny aluminum diamond plate away. He's constantly trying to get me to add some to this build.

But what was the coating you used inside and in the wheelwells, and did you just paint right over it ?

    Thanks!!

It's Durabak Truck Bed Liner: http://durabakcompany.com/

Put the Durabak on with a brush (the roller that comes with it made it way too rough) then sprayed it with PPG Primer Sealer and then sprayed the Sage Green Urethane Enamel.

    ^^^^^^ X2!!!!^^^^^^

I think this Jeep and that spray-bombed tan and black '56 that was sold to finish an MB on here in the build threads are my two favorite-est Willy's ever :D

No, no pics on the assembly, they were all on the hard drive that went belly up. Sorry.
It installed just like the ones for the T-90. The only difference between them is the T-90 overdrive has a 6 spline main gear that slides
over the transfer case shaft and the T-14 has a 10 spline main gear. In fact you can get a saturn/warn overdrive and just change out the main gear
to match whatever transmission you have.
Herm can get you whatever main gear you need.

Yeah, it was a kind of tongue in cheek title. It is primarily for hunting but it real easy to get carried away on these things.

Got some more done. Here's the exhaust system. Had Dave's Chico Muffler put it in. Did a great job. Also, some add ons like the bikini top, doors, fender flares (I know some like it better without the flares but with the extra 3 inches in axle width I wanted some protection against rocks and mud). I'll remove the doors and top for warm weather hunting but will be nice when it starts to get colder. It started right up but no oil pressure. I've been going through the whole ordeal of priming the oil pump (new gears, plate, gaskets, fill the gear housing with vaseline, pump priming tool) but to no avail. It just will not prime. Got a little bit of oil to come to the rockers when spinning gears with drill and priming tool but when I try to start it, no pressure. I keep searching google and this site but nothing to help yet. I'll just keep trying to figure it out. I still have to make up the brackets for the rear seat but all in all it's ready to go as soon as I get oil pressure.

About 35 miles from Chico. We go there about 3 times a week though. Born and raised in this area of Northern Calif. Just caught some salmon on the Sacramento River which is half way between us and Chico. General deer season opened today. Great place to live if you like outdoor activities.

ps: Just read your travel log. Very cool. We're a camping family too. The kids (grown now) have lots of good, bad and ugly stories, but would do it all again.

Looking great! Thanks for posting the exhaust pics. I will be starting my exhaust soon and I will probably duplicate what you have. That muffler shop did a nice job.

Thanks. I wanted it to be quiet but still breathe. We went with 2" pipe that crossed over in front of the transmission into one muffler. They were going to use 2 1/4"-2 1/2" pipe but I asked for the 2" for back pressure to get more torque instead of more speed on top. The hangers are rubber reinforced. I'm real happy with the job they did.

Well, ended up having to yank the engine out and stripped it down to the bare block. Had some oil galleries plugged with gunk. It kept oil from reaching the tappets. So, I went ahead and put in a ring kit. Cylinders were in good shape after some honing and the pistons looked good. Also put in new main, rod and cam bearings and a 252 comp cam and lifters. Cleaned the valves and seats up and had the heads trued. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to do all this but it is what it is. Painted the engine, put it back in and runs and sounds great now. Also, fabbed together a radiator shroud from some sheet metal I had laying around. Here's a couple of pics and a video of the engine running.
