Yes I read it many place that "Jeepsters are notorious for the hole getting over sized over time"
So far the floor hole looks in very good condition.
That aluminum piece is also loose...the whole retainer is loose top , thin washer and the nut type piece at bottom.

I'm looking for chain linkage clutch cable I think that may solve the problem...because the new cable (on the left from the picture) has plastic (or like electric tape) cover and I can't really see how it would hold it tight enough to hold the pressure.

Chain Controller Never seen one on a Jeepster and I'm not so sure that's going to work for you. I'd be more inclined to go with a hydraulic set up unless you happen across somebody with a really good used cable or a new old stock one. I don't think I've ever seen an after market cable break mainly because they've pulled apart way before they ever got to the point of breaking from wear.

ok maybe I said it wrong....I'm talking about the outside of the cable
The one on the right has the chain linkage cover not like the one on the left where its plastic (elrctric tape type).

Actually outside cover of the cable probably means nothing.
I just cut opened the one on the left and it does have metal coiling around it.
I guess I just need stronger retainer that can hold the prssure.
Before I go into hydraulic I wanna try to go with cable....also so coversion kit from jeepsterman ($160) that uses 12" cable..thats probably my next choice but , I'm gonna try to find a cable first...I'm sure its out there .

The problem I see with the cables put together like that is lack of clamping force on the braided steel sheath. I used to have a couple of old ones I pulled off partsters and the cable had pulled up through that clamp.
I'll have a look through my cables this afternoon, off chance I might have an NOS one.

"lack of clamping force on the braided steel sheath. " Exactly thats the problem.
I'm not sure if the one I got was the defected or all cables with that retainer has same problem...

    Ok Thanks :)

Went out and had a look and I don't even have a used original one. I know I had some but they must have been bad otherwise I'd still have them. I don't generally throw anything out if there's even a remote possibility it's useable 8).
