I have a bottom feeder tank on my Cj. My question is This feeds by gravity to the fuel pump Correct? I think I have a clog in either the fuel line or at the tank outlet. I am thinking of just blowing compressed air through it to clean it out. I have no fuel draining out when I diconnect from the fuel pump. Just a small drip, which explains why I have to wait inbetween the time that it dies to restart. Any Ideas......Dave

I think that the fuel pump is actually a little higher than the fuel tank. That might explain why the fuel doesn't run out at that end. I believe that the fuel pump actually sucks the fuel up to it. You could have some crap in the tank clogging up the outlet also.

I recently had the same problem. It turned out to be a plug in the outlet of the tank. You can remove the tank pretty quickly and easily. Then remove the float level and take a high pressure spray hose to the inside of the tank several times to flush out all the gunk. Be sure to let it dry completely. My problem is the tank "seeps" gas, I'll need to replace it soon.
    Good Luck!

I had this problem when I bought my old Jeep...it had been sitting for several years and the owner had drained the tank before "storing" the Jeep, but he was not able to get the last little bit of fuel out of the tank and when it evaporated, it formed a solid plug (hard as glass!) in the outflow tube. I took the tank out of the Jeep and then used a piece of aluminum (electric fence) wire to break out the plug. Just had to keep running the wire in and out of the tube (from the outside end), chipping away at the plug until it finally broke free.
