Hi everyone. I picked up this cj5 a few weeks ago and am ready to tackle the minor body work needed.

I am trying to figure out what kind of hood emblem I am missing on the hood. There are three holes on each side by where the hood latches.

I would prefer to get the stock emblems instead of welding up the holes.

Any ideas on where to get replacements?

X2, That's a Tux hood, but i believe that 67 was the last Tux year.

I am trying to figure that out too. The serial/vin is 229xxx On my dmv paperwork it doesn't list a first year sold. I don't have the link handy, but according to another site I found the 229xxx is consistent with a 67 cj5

Yep. But the good news is, your Jeep was made in Canada! Why is that good news? I don't know. Mine was! :D

Being very new to cjs...should I just weld up these holes and call it done?

The only difference are some holes. I'd doubt if anyone would give more for it because it's a "Tux hood".

Unless someone wants to trade for a regular hood I will most likely weld them up in the next few weeks. Thanks for the input guys.

Also reading about the canadian built cj5s it seems that my v6 engine was not a common install.

I have read that. The majority, if not all of the Canadian Jeeps I've run across were V6's. Granted, that's probably less than 10 Jeeps..

Nothing about the hood that is Tux specific. I would just weld up the holes.

Patrick, my friend's '67 is a Canadian made CJ5. And it has the F-134.

Well, there's one..:) My point was to say that all or most Canadian models were F Heads would not be accurate.
