I have a 1951 CJ3A that I am restoring to original. The starter has been converted to a push putton on the dash start method.

I am looking for what kind of linkage was used in the original style. I have 2 of the manual starters with the lever and solinode on the starter.

    And information would be appreciated.

I have wondered why Willys went from an electric/manual (foot pedal button connects a 6 volt wire to the starter) starter to an old fashioned mechanical linked starter on the CJ3A. My 47 Farmall cub has a mechanical starter rod fastened to a solenoid lever mounted on the starter much like the CJ3A. Bob will know.

My '53 3A has a key start and it is original. I can never figure out the rhyme or reason to things like this. R) :?
