OK I'm going out of my mind. I swear i read on here last year that DJ5's are setup for saginaw but let you keep the old style steering wheels and column.

Also in the thread I read it mentioned a DJ specific wrecker in the mid west or south that had sold forum members a couple nice columns.

I have searched and cannot find te reference again.

SO, is this true and where can I find the DJ parts? Is it smarter just to buy the column conversion kit (it seems expensive to me)

    thanks guys (and ladies?)

I bought from them a couple years ago. Sent me a mint condition column with steering wheel, horn button, turn signal, u-joint and steering shaft. Really pleased with the quality.

The DJ column is the hot ticket, but you don't want the DJ steering box. The DJ box has the mount on the wrong side to be useful in a CJ, unless of course you are building a a RHD CJ. ;)

    The DJ column works great!!

If you find a DJ don't forget to get the 11" drums off of it. Almost a bolt on upgrade for the old cj's

Every once in a while you get lucky. I found one in a local pick a part. You might try some of the local yards and ask around.

Thanks a million everyone (i don't actually have the million... yet)
I am getting my parts together and will soon be Saginaw, Disc front on a d27, 11" drum rear with e-brake (i have the 11" fronts from the same Wagoneer I'll be posting for sale soon).

Then I need to figure out new springs and shackles, I am running pretty much stock with 31x10.5 but I think I want to go 33x9.5 next time i do tires. I think I'll need a mild lift for those.

    thanks for the help!

Sorry I didn't search but would a complete swap from a LH drive postal like jeep be recommended?

    Hi Jim,
Do you mean you want to convert to right hand drive?
I got kind of excited about the idea when I read that right hand steering box post up there.

Otherwise, as I understand it you want to get the DJ (postal) steering column from the steering wheel all the way to the steering box (but not the box itself). This is what I am working on while I also put together a mounting kit and a steering box for a left hand drive conversion on my V6 CJ5.
