AMC V8 Airfilter

My AMC 360 is missing the airfliter and housing, what am I looking for as a replacement, does it have to be AMC? Was thinking of K&N but still need base plate and tophat, any ideas welcomed.

 

K&N would work. I'm not much of a fan though.

Pretty much any air cleaner for a US 4V carburetor will fit. There are lots of different air cleaners available from aftermarket sources. I would prefer a big paper element with a foam wrap.

 

See them all the time on eBay...not sure about the European or GB version of eBay though.

 

I use the 14" from napa PRA-160 for the filter and as mentioned above just get a V8 housinf should work. The KN are awefully expensive, I replace my one a year and that seems fine

 

Mine was missing also, I used one from a Ford 70 PU, almost identical, I don't like the chrome filter housings for Jeeps because the filter is exposed. Water and mud splashes up and soaks the exposed filter.

 

What height filter fits under the standard bonnet and with factory motor mount height
