I'm pretty sure the answer is sure, but would the style or what not be way off? I see a 72+ at a JY with a rear seat, and thought "Hey, I want that rear seat!"

    Thanks!!

And mine has no mounts in the rear floor, so that would hafta be dealt with as well.

If it is an intermediate, the rear seat will have pins that hold it into the mounts if it is factory. Take the rear seat and mounts out of the 72. They should bolt to the floor of your 55. If it is a 76 or later the seat bolts to the floor with nuts that are attached under the rear floor. Either way it will work if you don't mind drilling some holes.

I put a flip-n-fold rear seat out of a CJ-7 in my '56. Just make sure you get the mounts (esp the rear catches) if you get a donor seat.

This might be sacrilegious but I have used both low back seats from a school bus and the rear seat from a Geo Metro. The Metro was my favorite because the seat belts were built into the seat saving some fabrication. If I remember from my search the rear seat from a full size Bronco also fits and has seat belts built in. All of these mount on top of the rear wheel box and so are a little high. A six+ footer might stick up above the roll-bar but my kiddo has miles of room. If this was meant to be a stock seat question then just ignore my rambling.
