I'd look it up in the '72 manual at www.trailforge.com - a '72 has the same type of wiper motor, and would tell you what value the fuse should be. The '74 manual at www.oljeep.com would also work.

    Q: I have a 57'...are the bottom mount set-ups from a later model better?

I was planning on adding (2) top mount 12V units from jcw. At around $90 bucks for both with arms, I felt like that was cheap enough. Is there a problem with the 12V top mount units?

No personal experience. What I gather is that the cheap import motors are not very durable. You can buy similar motors for use on boats, but for that much you can buy a complete windshield and frame with the bottom mount wipers. The bottom mount setup is more durable, puts the wipers motor out of the way, and most of them have larger glass area for better visibility.

You can read old posts here about the top mount wipers. You may want to take a look at old posts about buying from JCW too :coffee:

Here's what you do NOT want:

You'll pay more for the good ones but they are far better than the JCW style most places sell.
