Sorry, I'm not going to be much help. Brian did paint a lot of his Jeeps yellow, but that's the only evidence I see that it might be his. Earliest I was there was when I was in high school, in '71. There were a couple of flat fender Jeeps that came through the dealership, but none that I recall were yellow. Brian built a 3A for his wife around '72, but that was a 225 automatic that was candy apple red.

Brian had some property in San Diego county, maybe near Valley Center? His home was in Santa Ana Canyon (Anaheim Hills) for many years. Any connection with those?

The cobbled-up grille guard doesn't look like Brian's work. He built a project car a couple times a year, usually with the help of the dealership staff. But none of them were kept around, as I recall. He and his wife always drove new Jeeps. Seems unlikely to me that it was his, unless he picked it off his dealership lot for use at his property, or something like that.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

He's in the Pala/Rainbow (SD County) area last I heard of him.
I would say no as well.
Shouldn't be too hard to find him Christian.
Poor Jeep, too bad not much left.

Also, Brian sold hop-up parts for the L134, including an aluminum head.

No evidence of any Chuchua-branded stuff? I'd expect any Jeep he had for his own use would have these parts.

First thing I looked for was that aluminum head! It's pretty much all stock - looks very ranch Jeep!

It's near the Pala Rez just past Valley Center. I believe the guy's story about how it came there, but I agree it's not indicative of other Chuchua stuff I've seen.

Guess we'll chalk it up to a solid - dunno.

Christian, I did see something in your blog post -

These were sold at the dealership. BC's was a Cibie dealer and used these on the race cars. There's one under the hood of that Jeep. Maybe it's a common part from the era, but to me it says that the BC parts department was connected to this Jeep somehow.

What's written on that aluminum head? I think there's one in my dad's shop. He's in a nursing home now, and I'm getting ready to sell his collection of parts . . . any interest in these heads?

See pic above. It says "CHUCHUA".

Yes, I'm sure there would be some interest, if it were the head we're thinking of.

Yes, I'll stick to classified. In this case, was looking for info. I don't have this head anyway. I couldn't read the name in the head in the pic, but now that you point it out, I see it now. The one my dad has must be off of something that just LOOKS like an L-134 head. It says "supersonic" I think . . .

Not sure I would attribute a Willys to Brian due to the presence of one of those relays. JCW even sold them and there are still 2 of them in my 3B. Very common in the pre solid state era.

The "Supersonic" head is a Willys passenger car part IIRC, and is cast iron. It may have some appeal due to a slightly higher CR, but it's not a hop-up part like the Chuchua head (or the Willy Willy or the Hickey head). If it were aluminum, it would be a real find.

The Supersonic head is still worth listing for sale, but don't expect a bidding war.
