Hello, I have swapped a t-150 to a t-18 and I am wondering if anyone has did the same? If so, there is a number of mounting holes in the original skid plate/cross member and my goal is to have a perfect alignment from the transfer case shaft to the rear end. Does anyone have a picture of the mounting bracket to the skid plate installed which would be great, or measurements from center of shaft to any reference point side to side? Any info is appreciated.

    Thanks

    What are you working on?
    Year? Model? Engine?
    Stuff like that.

    A T-150 should be a '76-79 model.

I would not depend on somebody else's measurements to determine if the engine/transmission is aligned parallel to the frame. I'd get out my tape and measure it myself. Is there a reason why you can't just measure the distances and know whether you are parallel?

The CJs from this era that came with the T-18 used basically the same mount as the 3-speeds, but there was an additional bracket that moves the mount to the back edge of the cross-member. I expect the cross-member does not move wrt the chassis at all. Unless you have all the factory parts, you're going to have to fabricate a bracket like this.

Swapping the T-18 into the CJ-5 is perhaps the most popular transmission conversion for these Jeeps. However, any conversion like this requires a little engineering on your part. I suggest you leave the cross-member where it is and mock up your mount to see what's going to work. Unless you have a donor vehicle with the drivetrain configuration you want (ie an entire CJ chassis with a T-18 ), you're going to have to improvise to some degree. Like many worthwhile endeavors, if it were easy, everybody would do it.

Welcome to the site (or rather, congratulations on graduating from lurker to poster)! :coffee: :)

I have already fabricated the mount per other articles on the internet. What I was asking is if anyone out there had any pictures of the installation. Yes, this is a t-18 from a doner 75 cj, and yes I have taken some measurements, I do know that adding both vertical and horizontal squared would be the perfect drive shaft angle. I just wanted to verify the mounting bracket set up because the only part that hasn't changed is the skid plate/cross member.
