Hi I am a little slow.. I started on this in December 2008.. Then promptly in the first part of 2009.. I retore my right achilles.. This after completely severing it in 2006.

I have also sadly lost all of my before and during photos..

Here is a list of what has been done.

    1. Purchased as basket case in 2008.
    2. Stripped it to bare bags .
    3. Sand blasted frame.
    4. sealed frame in epoxy primer.
    5. Three coats of epoxy enamle.
    6. Two coats of Clear.
    7. Complete engine tear down. Re-ring, new pistons. O who am I kidding.. I basicly used a well seasoned block. It is bored .020 over. (I probably spent more on engine rebuild than I have on building any of my other jeeps all together)
    8. Have not decided to use YF carb that is currently on it or YS.
    9. Made poor man timing marks on front cover for quick timing reference with RTV...LOL
    10. Have replaced all Brake components.
    11. have rear PTO drive but not rest of goodies.. that way when I got it.
    12. PO had done a saginaw power steering upgrade.. I am going back to original.. Kind of sounds silly.. But Just my choice. I have actually not been able to work on this for almost a year and a half.
    13. Gonna start into my new acquired tub and hopefully get it squared away soon.
    14. The tub will need a tool box and a drop box for the Fuel tank.. I have these in another tub, but hate idea of destroy the other tub?

I hate to admit.. This jeep is just gonna be a summer cruiser.. I already have three other jeeps and motorcycles and kind of hard to keep up with them all.

This is the fully rebuilt YS Carb.. I am thinking I will probably throw it up for sale or trade? I am undecided till someone decides for me?

And here is my new to me Tub...Lots of un-needed holes to repair.. But the hat rails are in awesome shape and the tub came from Arizona.. Or at least that is the research I determined this past weekend..

Hey Copper, looking good, like the 52. I think the 52 is alright just being the summer cruzer, It also told me it would rather be in Ohio freezing its tail off and in my barn.... LOL ! :) Keep up the good work!

I'm getting ready to have my frame sandblasted, I only hope it looks that good when I'm done. Great job.

Just make sure after you get it to them.. Tell them to make sure and blast down real good inside the frame near the motor mounts..

Also after you get it back.. I took and pressure washed mine like three times.. then used a metal prep agent over the whole frame.. I cannot recall the name.. Marine something I believe?

Good luck.. Hopefully you will be faster than me....:tea:

Probably "Marine Clean". It is a product used with the POR-15 setup. Then you can spray it with "metal ready" and that etches / galvanizes the metal.

Ok so today I did just a few little odds and ends. I installed my civilian style parking brake. I know mine is a M38A1... But I prefer the performance of the civilian version.. If I was a constant mudder. I would be using the M38A1 style.. But also my buddy already conned me out of it...Found out something interesting. The bolt lengths are different between the two. The M38A1's are too long and locked up transfer case.Swapped bolts and works great.. All new shoes and new paint make it look nice. I think I will be happy ....Is that not what matters?

Oh yeah ...Mrs. USPS brought me present today.. Ohhh yeah.. Now I can replace my questionable 69 year old brake lines.. the flexible parts.. after these are installed.. there is litterally nothing left of original brake system at all... Loving it.

this is how I did my oil lines? Does anyone see any problems with running hard lines? I have seen them on other rigs.

Here is my front grill. I am either gonna remove all the 24 volt stuff and run 12 volt civilian.. or I have another grill that has already been stripped.. Then either way i will sell the 24 volt hardware and black out style turn signals.

I put Hella H4 conversion lights in my A1 original doors, I bought "new" seals that were dated 1954! And they were still flexible and soft unlike newer rubber. I like the blackout style lamps, and I found an orange lens set from one of the military supply guys. You have to change the bulb holder if you want to have running and turn signals in it, but the military grill and light setup is one of the things I like best about the A1. Nice build, I am following along. :tea:
