What Nuts/Bolts/Washers and bushings should I get to run with shackles like pictured in Warloch's post #17 above?

damn those things could rip the hangers right off the frame lol those got to be 1000 times stronger than the stockers and thats no exageration. when i got some springs from the junk yard rather than take the bolts out i just twisted the shackle plates with my channel locks and they broke. Try that with those!

Look nice, but won't work to replace the "C" shackle on an early w/factory shackle reversal like my '56. The center crossbar will hit the frame as the spring flexes, as the shackle will move to the rear. My Warrior anodized ones have a piece of flat stock that needs to be cut back to eliminate this. Only other way to make it work is to enlarge the distance between the upper bolt hole and the cross piece. Just a heads up for anyone considering these and has shackle reversal stock on their rig.......

I made these out of 3/8x2" stock in 1975. These use 1/2 bolts. And yes, if you have a drill press and welder, they are very easy to make. IMO, there should not be any flex in the shackle-it should all be in the bushings. Lateral flexing shackles don't do much for your steering control, but then, if you still have the Ross box you likely wouldn't notice anyway.

Those are grade 8 with nylocks on them, no washers - 7/16 sticks in my head, but will measure them this afternoon for you.

I have made my own in the past, but really like these with the lock in the middle to take them apart, yet keep them strong. It's one thing I have to do to drop my rear tank (made it to tight ).

What kind of added lift are the shackles that Warloch and McGruff are talking about

The bolts are 7/16X3 1/4 - as to lift I think only 1/2" from stock. I tried to get as close to stock as I could at the time. I don't believe in shackle lifts as it screws with steering geometry.

Depending on final price, I'd be interested in a set of 4 like the one's Warlock posted. But I'd need them all to be wide enough to fit YJ springs.......

I'm building some out a 3/8 plate, I cut some 1 3/4 wide strips with the plasma cutter. I was thinking about using a 4" hole to hole shackle because I using Waggy and YJ springs and I want some flex with good road manners. I show you guys some pictures when they are done.
