I am in the process of trying to restote a 66 cj5 ex airport plane tugger. I need to know if someone can get me a pic of a stock 66cjs dash so I can ID the location of the controls and switches .

I also would like to know what factory options where availible in 66 as well . this jeep was equipt with a plow on the front , the plow was gone but all the mounts are still there.

    TIA

Look at the first picture. All the way on the left is a vacuum hose that goes to the wiper motors. I believe the switch is on the motors.

:iagree: '66 has vacuum wipers. Each motor has a pull/push vacuum control switch.

Cap - n - cray is correct. the vacuum wipers have there own switch on them. the switches you see on my dash are for the lights, choke, ignition and a cigerette lighter.

An overly exccessive amount of convienance gadjets for sure. I hope to simplify the dash in its future:) :)

well thanks for solveing some of the confusion. I found out how the wipers work now , vacuum off the fuel pump? thats just wild . well now for the 64thousand dollar questions . where is the horn button? or do I just yell HONK (~: and does anyone have a pic of the tail lights and soft top setup .

Horn is on the steering wheel and you still yell. Wipers get vacuum from the engine. Makes for fun when you accelerate with the wipers on.

It is hard to find a fuel pump with vacuum anymore at least for a V6.

is the horn button under the rubber cap on the steeering wheel? I have the fhead in mine and the vac lines are on the fuel pump, I called advance auto and they still list a replacement at $85.00:rofl: doesnt anyone make a kit to rebuild them anymore?

Yes, with one wire running out at the end of the steering wheel shaft for a connection.

Don't know about a rebuild kit, someone here will know if there is though.

cool you solved that mystery for me, I was wondering why there was a wire comming out of the steeering shaft undeer the hood . another question for ya i found two wires that i think are the horn wires. did the horn setup use a horn relay? or did they wire the horn direct?

The horn is polarity sensitive and is marked with a "+" and "-". A hot wire (full time hot) goes directly to the "+" on the horn and is fused. The ground wire at "-" on horn goes up the center of steering column and is grounded by pushing the rubber center of steering wheel.
