    Well so much for my earlier recommendation.

    I went out to work on the jeep and noticed the pin sticking out through the side of my fuel pump. I have only drive the jeep once since I installed it!

    WTH is it? I have a bad feeling it is not supposed to be like that.

    Picture of the fuel pump from the factory website. The area outlined in red is where the pin is sticking out at.

    I sure hope the place I bought it from will exchange it for a non defective unit.

    Defective, yes. But before I went to the hassle of trying to exchange it I would probably remove the pump and try to slide the pin back in. Once it is back in you use a drift to "stake" the casting so that the pin can't slide back out. Easy fix.

    <edit>

    FWIW I will only buy Omix -ADA stuff if there is no other alternative because of the number of off-spec parts of theirs that I have bought over the years. That fuel pump is prolly available at your FLAPS. Even if you have to wait a day or three to get it, I'd still go with an Airtex or other brand before an Omix-ADA.

    My Omix fuel pump diaphragm has failed miserably. I'm guessing it's not ethanol compliant since it is leaking and no longer pumps. Pretty aggravating considering they cost of these things and I far as I can tell is the only pump available. Oh and lets not forget I had one that came with NO check valves... so it didn't work.

    :iagree: I know for a fact that the fuel pump is available from flaps, but not sure it will have the vac pump, I still need to order a fuel pump (mine crapped out) advance can have mine the next day for around $40
