I am going to bedliner the floor of my new body when I get it in and I have a few questions I didn't see anybody ask yet. I want to bedline as much of the inside as possible.

Has anyone had a problem with closing the toolbox door when they lined the whole thing?

If someone lined the inside of the box, were you able to get the whole inside covered?

Did anyone have mounting issues when coating the transmission covers seperately? I am planning on coating the bottom of the tub as well, including the tranny covers. I have a deal going with the guys at a fastener company. I've been getting bolts for tips ( grade 8, stainless...etc) I was planning on putting "throw away" bolts in the holes to keep the threads clean. With it being coated on both sides, can anyone see mounting problems?

I spray the inside of my cj 5 with Herculiner. I did the inside of tool box. I got as much as posible spraying and rolled some on also. The box opens and closes without any problems. I didn't coat the trans covers , I paint them black. I did plug all bolt holes with foam ear plugs to keep herculiner out of the threads. Good luck Larry

I had no problems spraying my tranny/tc covers, as far as everything else, if you spray/roll a ton if it you will have problems. Don't over do it and you should be fine, remember the stuff will add some weight and thicknes.

Well, I finished bedlining the body. I coated the whole floor underside and top, including the tranny covers and underside fenders. I decided to not coat the tool box lid as I didn't want to chance it not closing. After it was all said and done, I could have coated the lid. Its not too thick that it would affect the closing of the lid. I astually started practice on some Studebaker wasel tracks to get the hang of it. I started out with a $100 Iwata gun the guy at the paint store recomended and it didnt' work worth a flip. It looked like I took a spoonfull of cookie dough and threw it on the wall. I talked to a guy at a pro truck shop here in town and he uses a $20 Harbour Freight texture gun. It turned out great. If you have an air compressor that will put out a constant 90psi, you can do it professionally yourself. I used Superliner color matched to the body color I am going to use; Jeep Light Khaki Metallic. It came out a little darker, but they said it would do that with lighter colors. Its OK though; I just didn't want black.

This stuff is pretty easy. All you do is mix the "B" component and tint into the "A" component in the gallon can, mix, and spray. The gun comes with 3 different size tips. I used the smaller one as I wanted a fine texture. It costs $80 per gallon, and I did what you see with 2 gallons.
