My jeep is now down to rolling chassis status, and I'm about to order parts to swap in the wagoneer axles. My question is, what leaf springs are you guys using? I'm going SOA with tires in the 35-37 inch range. I held up some rear waggy springs next to the jeep, and it looks like without stretching the frame, I would actually loose a few inches of wheel base.

From what I've read, the front waggy springs are about 44 inches long with a 2 1/2 inch offset center pin, which would give me an inch or so longer wheel base, does that sound right? Would these springs give the right amount of lift?

Or I could just go with YJ springs, but I hesitate to pay 75 bucks a pack for them after reading so much about how weak they are without modification. Also, would I want to go with stock YJ springs or some with a little bit of lift?

What are your experiences with this?

    Thanks.

The only thing I can think of is that the width of the post-CJ springs are wider than that of the CJ. Thus you may need to install wider perches/pivots. HTH. :stout:

He's going to have to fab new hangers up front anyway. The springs will need to be moved outboard of the frame to accommodate the position of the front diff. That's what's stopping me from doing the jeepster. That and no workshop, a divorce, a lousy under-paying job.........(OK end of rant, sorry  )

I used RE 1.5" Extreme Duty Reverse Eye Wrangler SOA springs. They allow me to easily clear 35" TSLs. Love 'em. They flex well, ride well, and have held up well for almost 3 years now. Only thing is they're kinda pricey at about $150 a pack or so.

I went ahead and ordered the RE 1.5" Extreme Duty Reverse Eye Wrangler SOA springs that BESRK is using. They sound like they'll work a lot better than stock springs would have. Thanks for the advice!
