    Hey.

Im getting my CJ5 1975 home very soon (early model) - and i was looking for factory made holes to mount a backseat in. Currently there is no backseat in the jeep - where they made without backseats atsome point ? Should i just drill some holes, or ?

There should be holes in the floor already. The seat mounts look like this:

The rear seat brackets slide into the brackets on the floor.

The back seat was a factory option. They all came from the factory with the holes in the floor, whether the seat was ordered or not.

If the Jeep was sold with no back seat, the holes for the brackets would have been plugged. My Jeep used to have a back seat, but it's gone now.

Your floor shows some evidence of plugs where the bolt holes are located.

There's no aftermarket source for the brackets that I know of. They would be easy to make, or you could probably buy them from one of the large Jeep wrecking yards in the western USA.

Do you have a source for a back seat? I think a Wrangler back seat will fit between the wheel wells, but it mounts to the floor differently.

For my 75 model, I installed a Rugged Ridge fold-n-tumble back seat from 4wheelparts.com. It comes with a floor mounted bracket that uses two of the four original holes and then you have to drill two new ones. I definately recommend the fold-n-tumble feature.

Gigem1983 sound like a good idea that would solve my bracket problems. I have quoted 4wd.com for price for freight to denmark! Thanks!

I did the wrangler fold and tumble too, I second that advice. $35 used but in great shape, I had it covered the same as my front seats and am into it 1/2 of what would have been new. I really like that it folds and the way it securely latches when down. If you have a tale gate, a fold & tumble is a must.
